We sometimes get asked why we don't offer, as some Blackpool intensive driving course schools do, same week theory and driving test courses.
There is a good reason for this.
Your intensive course will probably be one of the biggest investments you will make this year, both in money and time and we don't want you to be disappointed.
The 2 tests in same week course
Blackpool driving schools who advertise these same week theory and driving test courses will have you believe that you will definitely be taking a driving test at the end of the course. What they fail to tell you is that most test centre bookings for driving tests are normally 4 - 6 weeks ahead of today's date. Driving schools who offer this same week theory and driving test course are asking you to take a risk and a gamble.
The Risk
The risk is you might FAIL the theory test, and if you do fail you will not be able to take the driving test. Driving tests can only be booked on passing the theory test
The Gamble
If you pass your theory test the gamble is on the driving school finding a cancelled driving test. The chance of a cancelled short notice driving test being found for your course is a big gamble.
If a cancelled test is available it will most probably be in a Town some miles away from where you receive your tuition. It is not uncommon to travel 60 miles to a test centre in a Town never seen or driven in before just for a driving test to be taken
Guarantee of Driving Test
Intensive driving schools offering same week theory and driving test courses can not guarantee you the time or Town a driving test will be taken. Come to think of it in their Terms and Conditions most say they can't even guarantee a driving test will be taken with your course at all
The only sure way
1st ..Take your theory test as soon as you feel ready. Arrange for it to be taken at a centre local to you. If needed this can be arranged for you by a driving school.
2nd...On passing the theory a secure driving test can be arranged with your course. You will receive the official appointment letter from the DSA confirming your test is booked with details of when and where your driving test is to be taken
Unless you are prepared to gamble, or can accept the disappointment of not taking your practical driving test steer clear of same week theory and driving test courses. It will always be safer to have your driving test appointment letter confirming you have a driving test booked before your course starts
